The one about online dating

I tried online dating. Let us get right into it. I had idly toyed with getting into online dating like late last year but I never thought I would actually do it. Moving into my new apartment was what eventually started this domino effect. I started using FaceBook very actively in January to get updates regarding my apartment and one day, I saw a prompt to join FaceBook dating. I scrolled past it because I did not even think people still used FB actively for anything, much less a potential love match. However, this prompt kept popping up every time I opened my app so I gave in one day and created a profile. I did it and just moved…

The one about online parenting

There are many hard and difficult things in life as well as simple and easy to do things. However, nothing is as easy as online parenting. You know, the one where we give opinions on how we think people should parent their children from behind the comfort of our keypads. There was a video circulating social media about few days ago of one parent that beat his child because he instructed the child not to join a certain whatsapp group, but she disobeyed the father and joined regardless. My post is not about the incident, but it has triggered me to write about parenting from the perspective of someone who is a child and has also lived with new parents…

The one about Sanwo-Olu’s Lagos

I wanted to help but I was scared someone will "jack" me as soon as I take off and hijack my car. I will then be forced to go get ready to sew cloth on Twitter thread with caption - “Had Hai Know” Anyhow, the event reminded me of all the pepper I have seen on Lagos streets since I started living here. I grew up in Ibadan (some of you will say this is why my mouth is sharp but whatevurrr) and schooled in Ile-Ife. I have largely had a…

The one where Cabo Verde showed me pepper.

Cabo Verde Airlines is the king of trash. If trash airlines had a whatsapp group, Cabo Verde Airlines will be the group admin. If you follow me on IG, then you may have known that I visited Cape Verde in December. Sigh. I suffered. I initially thought it was my fault for doing a low budget trip and seeing low budget troubles but in retrospect that made no sense. Crappy service can’t be explained away by the cost of the service. If a business does not profit the owner, it is best to shut it down than dish out crap because you aren’t breaking even. Cabo Verde Airlines only started operations in Nigeria in December 2019 and they are by…
